Managing Your Team Roster

Add players, handle invitations, and keep a clean, up-to-date roster all season long.

How the Roster Works

In Squad, players are linked to their parent's account. When you invite a parent and they accept, they add their child and that child appears on your roster automatically. This keeps parent contact details accurate and up to date without any manual data entry on your end.

Inviting Parents to Join Your Team

  1. Open your team and click the Roster tab.
  2. Click Invite Parent.
  3. Enter the parent's email address and click Send Invite.
  4. The parent receives a link to create their account and add their child.
  5. Once accepted, the child's name appears under Players.
Pending invitations stay visible so you can see who hasn't responded yet and resend if needed.

Viewing Player & Parent Details

Clicking any player on the roster shows their full profile including:

  • Player name and year of birth
  • Parent name and email address
  • Attendance history for the current season

This information is always current because parents manage it from their own accounts. You never need to chase down updated phone numbers or email changes.

Removing a Player from the Roster

If a player leaves your team mid-season:

  1. Go to the Roster tab.
  2. Find the player and click the remove icon next to their name.
  3. Confirm the removal. The player and their parent will no longer see your team's schedule or messages.
Removing a player doesn't delete their profile — they can be re-added to the same or a different team later.

Managing Multiple Teams

If you coach more than one team — say a U10 and a U12 group — each team has its own completely separate roster, schedule, and messaging space. Switch between teams using the team selector on your coach dashboard. Players can appear on multiple teams if needed (for example, a player called up to a higher-age group).

Tips for a Clean Roster

  • Send invitations early in the season before the first event so parents can RSVP from day one.
  • Resend to any email marked as pending after one week — the original email may have gone to spam.
  • Ask parents to double-check their child's name spelling when they sign up.
