About SquadRoot
We're software engineers who also play cricket. Running our own teams meant chasing availability in group chats, collecting fees by hand, and rebuilding spreadsheets every season. So we built Squad, the team management app we wanted for ourselves, to run our teams more efficiently. Now it can run yours too.
Teams are run by volunteers fitting games around work and family. We know, because we are those volunteers. Every hour spent chasing RSVPs, reconciling payments, or fixing a roster spreadsheet is an hour not spent playing. We built Squad to give that time back, with software that is pleasant to use and that you can trust with your data and your money.
Squad is not a side project bolted onto a generic platform. It is built, and used every week, by the people who make it.
We play cricket and run our own teams on Squad every week. Every feature started as a real problem in our own season: who is available on Saturday, who still owes fees, which ground we are on, and what the score is.
By day we build software. We have years of experience shipping full-stack web and mobile products, including payments, scheduling, and real-time messaging — the exact problems teams and clubs face every season.
Authentication, payments, and data are handled with industry-standard tooling — Supabase for auth and database, Stripe for payments, and a hardened FastAPI backend. We treat the safety of children's data and club finances as a first-order requirement, not an afterthought.
